Group classes are for pet owners who are seeking general manners and basic obedience. Classes are based on progression and able to complete a Canine Good Citizen test if you desire. Trainer reserves the right to refuse any dog that can not be controlled or displays aggressive behaviors. It is recommended that a behavior modification program be completed to minimize this issue.
Family Dog - Our class is designed for dogs six months and older as we train using both new and old techniques. Through class progression, we will train you to teach your dog to come, sit, stay, down, wait, greeting from stranger and walk at your side on a loose leash. Other subjects like jumping and chewing can be discussed. Six Week Sessions $95.00
Family Dog Distraction Training - This class you will fine tune your handling skill, exercises include: door bell and door greeting, recall off leash and distraction training. This is not offered to beginners. Dogs must have a working knowledge of basic obedience including a reliable sit, down and come. Will need shoe string, 8 ft & 25ft lead. 6 weeks session $120.00
NEW Competition Obedience- Beginners and Novice. In this class you will prepare for competition, polish your handling skill. This class will work with both AKC and UKC requirements for both Companion Dog (CD) and Companion Dog of Excellence (CDX) Titles. Heeling on-off leash, Figure 8, Stand for exam, recall, drop on recall, long sit, downs, (handler out of sight) , JR handlers only
People Training for Dogs- Seminar is offered to pet owners, to learn and have a better understanding of "normal" dog behaviors. Come and see how to train breed verses temperament, learn how your methods of training influence your dogs ability to understand. Become an effective communicator while straightening your relationship. Gain knowledge of general health topics and how this affects your dog, as well as, the four phases of training. test Canine Good Citizen –Certified American Kennel Club Instructor and Evaluator. You need not take a class to be evaluated. Class reinforces each exercise tested. Your dog must be able to sit, stay, and walk nicely on a leash. 1: Accepting a friendly stranger. 2: Sitting politely for petting. 3: Appearance and grooming .4: Out for a walk (walking on a loose lead) 5: Walking through a crowd. 6: sit and down on command and staying in place. 7: Coming when called. 8: Reaction to another dog. 9: Reaction to distraction. 10: Supervised separation.
Pet First Aid /CPR- Certified American Red Cross Instructor. Learn emergency first aid and CPR procedures for cats and dogs. This class is offered to pet care professionals and pet owners. You will learn how to work with life-threatening conditions as well as common illnesses. This is a great opportunity for rescue organizations, pet foster parents, pet day care, kennels, training facilities, pet walkers and vet. You may call to schedule a class at your location for 10 or more people. Individuals may check classes and locations to sign up for up. Fee $45.00 per person, call for group rates- 4 hours.
